7 DIY cleaning recipes using essential oils

It’s no secret that cleaning is not my favorite thing in the world, but just like many adult household responsibilities, it has to be done. When I first got married, I used blue toilet bowl cleaners, bleach, blue glass cleaner, and chemical all purpose sprays. When I became pregnant with our first child, I changed my ways. The idea of her breathing in toxic ingredients made me cringe and think twice about what products I was using in our home. Being conscious of what is being used in your home is very important, however, sometimes you need professional help to deal with bigger issues, this is where companies like ServiceMaster Restoration by Zaba can be of help to you and your household.

For several years now I have been making my own cleaners or purchasing non-toxic ready made products. Truthfully, you can do most of your cleaning with white vinegar, baking soda, and Castile soap. It’s simple, cheap, and effective. A couple of years ago though, I was introduced to essential oils and loved the idea of adding scent to my cleaning products. I bought a new vacuum cleaner (after reading reviews on websites like https://www.cleanthatfloor.com/), and started adding essential oils to the carpet. It was a complete game-changer and it’s a tip that I always swear by!The smell of vinegar can take some getting used to when you are used to that lemony fresh artificial scent in other cleaning products.

Also, one of my best friends works for a commercial cleaning company and she told me that she loves to use essential oils and other natural extracts alongside her commercial cleaning products. She told me that although some cleaning jobs are best left to the commercial-grade cleaning products that you can find on websites like www.phsdirect.co.uk, there is no harm in combining commercial methods with natural products too. Ideally, a combination of the two can get any space looking clean again.

Anyway, I began using mainly lemon essential oil and Lavender oil by rouh essentials just for scent. After self experimentation and research, I found out that essential oils are really great for more than just scent. They contain powerful benefits all on their own including being helpful in fighting against bacteria, viruses, mold and mildew, as well as being great for cutting grease, removing sticky messes and stains.

Now essential oils are a staple in my home and are added to just about all of my homemade cleaners for an extra boost. I personally use Plant Therapy essential oils in my home because of their quality and price. If you are looking for a great Spring Cleaning starter set, Plant Therapy has a great set that will last you a long while.
